Date
The ARCON 42 gaming convention will be held from June 19 to 22, 2026. The doors are open to participants from 5 PM Friday to 2 PM Monday.
Location
The convention takes place at Hartvig Nissens School, Frogner, Oslo (Niels Juels gate 56).
Our venue is modern and universally accessible. Need to use the elevator? Just ask at the reception!
Getting There
By Public Transportation:
- Metro: Closest metro station is Majorstua og Nationalteateteret. All lines stops at these stations on their way through city center. Approx. 15 minutes to walk to the school.
- Tram: Line 12 and 15 stops at Niels Juels gate. Approx. 5 minutes to walk to the school.
- Bus: Line 21 to Riddervolds plass. Approx. 2 minutes to walk to the school.
- For timetables, visit Ruter.no.
By private vehicle:
- Spaceship: Oslo has no approved landing sites for spaceships, but we recommend using Slottsparken with the SEP field activated.
- Unfortunately, ARCON does not have access to any parking on the school grounds. There is street parking in the streets around the school, but follow the signs! It costs NOK 333 per day (half price for electric cars) and is free on Sunday. The app «Bil i Oslo» can be used for payment.
Prices are subject to change. We encourage visitors arriving from out of town by car to consider parking outside the city and use public transportation to reach the venue.
Free Play
At ARCON, there’s always something fun to do, even outside the scheduled program!
- Board Games: Our partner ARES will bring their large collection of board games. Borrow a game at any time, enjoy your favorites, or try something new!
- Dungeons & Dragons: Join the Adventurers League to easily jump into an adventure – just show up at the start of a session!
- Arriving solo? No worries! Simply ask around – many people are looking for someone to join them! The entry hall, cafeteria and free play areas are great spots to meet new people.
Registration
If you wish to secure your spot for a scheduled activity, you should pre-register. Create a user account and sign up for any activities you would like to join on the program (use Google Translate if necessary).
For board games, card games and miniature games, Norwegian language competency is rarely a requirement. For RPG sessions and other activities, look for the appropriate language tag.
- No registration? No problem! Just show up anyway, but note that pre-registered participants have priority. Organizers will do roll calls if necessary.
The program is divided into sessions lasting two hours with shared breaks in between. This is to ensure that as many participants as possible can take part in multiple activities without overlap. Longer activities run across multiple consecutive sessions.
